The One Club for Creativity has named Bob Barrie, a founding partner and the Executive Creative Director of independent creative agency Rise and Shine and Partners, an inductee to its illustrious Creative Hall of Fame. The global organization has a rich history of honoring the lifetime achievements of creative luminaries in all forms of advertising and design.

“I’m thrilled by this honor and share it with all of my amazing creative partners throughout the years,” said Bob Barrie, founder and executive creative director of Rise and Shine and Partners.

Bob is part of a distinguished group of 2024 inductees being recognized by The One Club for Creativity. “They blazed a trail of innovation, transformed their industries, uplifted underrepresented groups, and continue to inspire the next generation of creative talent. They each made a profound impact but did it in profoundly different ways,” said Glenn Cole, cofounder, 72andSunny, and Chairman of The One Club Board of Directors. “As the creative class grows exponentially, and as the creator economy reshapes the world, the Creative Hall of Fame is more relevant than ever.”

Bob moved to Minneapolis from his hometown of Green Bay, Wisconsin, to study architecture at the University of Minnesota. He switched his major to advertising after learning that he would probably spend the first half of his career designing the restrooms in other architects’ buildings.

Over 23 prolific years at Fallon, Bob worked on a variety of famous campaigns for clients that include TIME magazine, United Airlines, Hush Puppies Shoes, Porsche Cars North America, Coca-Cola, Jim Beam bourbon, Lee apparel, Citibank, Nikon cameras and the introduction of Ted Airlines. In 2000, his TIME “red border” campaign was named “Print Campaign of the Decade.

He has won 43 One Show Pencils, numerous Clios, Communication Arts awards, Effies, AICP awards, Cannes Lions and other oddly shaped pieces of metal. Bob also served as president of the One Club for Art & Copy in New York from 1998 to 2001 and has given talks on the topic of advertising in locations as diverse as Stockholm, Singapore and Milwaukee. He has also judged dozens of advertising shows, from Hong Kong to Cannes.

In 2007, Bob helped found the Minneapolis agency now known as Rise and Shine and Partners. In 2009, it was honored with the O’Toole Award as “Best Small Agency in the U.S.” by the American Association of Advertising Agencies.

“There’s no better way to understand and appreciate Bob’s incredible impact and influence on the creative industry than to take a look at his work,” said Kevin DiLorenzo, President and CEO of Rise and Shine.
