BBDO Minneapolis debuted a new television commercial called “Chili Cheese Hands” as the latest from their HORMEL Chili “Pour On” campaign. Originally introduced in January 2020, the campaign highlights HORMEL Chili as the easiest way to add excitement to mundane meals.
In the new spot, a game-day get-together is transformed into an over-the-top party after tasting HORMEL Chili Cheese Dip, with guests’ arms reaching across the room and intertwining as each vies for their own taste of this mouthwatering dip.
BBDO Minneapolis worked with production company Kinopravda, and director Daphne Samaras to bring the new HORMEL Chili commercial to life. The production took place in Mexico City, over the course of two days, with stringent COVID-19 safety protocols in place to protect the cast, crew, and clients.
“Watching this eccentric, funny spot come to life with the support of our client, the makers of HORMEL Chili, and amplified by our director partners at Kinopravda has been an incredible experience,” said Taylor Snyder, Creative Director at BBDO Minneapolis. “From the hundreds of feet of puppeted arms to the integration of voguing dancers as a way to celebrate the product, this spot couldn’t have been more fun to make.”
