Plural, a creative content company, recently added director Kat Rapheal to its growing roster. She’s spent 25 years honing her directing approach, which includes intentionally building partnerships with clients and building rapport with everyone from creatives to talent. Her career began in commercial casting before moving to reality TV production and line producing.

“Kat has a well-earned reputation for making the most out of every idea, shoot, talent, and budget,” said Steve Holm, Plural founder. “I can’t wait for more clients to see what kind of magic she works on set.”

Kat’s relationship-building skills were on display during her recent Plural shoot—a commercial for TRIA advertising orthopedic care for students. For the hockey-themed shoot, Kat filled the stands with more than 200 marketing and business students from Mounds View High School. They got to get a glimpse behind the scenes of their possible careers and TRIA got an ad with the energy turned all the way up.

“She just made it feel so much bigger and so much cooler than you thought it could be,” said Tim Myers, an associate creative director on HealthPartners and TRIA’s brand and creative team. He credits Kat for elevating the TRIA brand through the quality of the spot—including getting the most out of talent.

“She can speak to actors and actresses better than anyone I’ve ever seen. She speaks to creatives that way too. You just want to follow her vision,” he said.
