We are currently seeking applicants for the role of Art Director. This person will work directly with the Creative Director and a Copywriter to concept, design, and execute consumer-facing initiatives including advertising campaigns to launch new products and seasonal initiatives, video content, and other creative assets. This person must have strong conceptual chops and the Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign skills to bring ideas to life in a unique way that builds consumer affinity, grows our community, and drives sales.
Additionally, the candidate should have a strong interest in contemporary media and culture, be active on social channels, and have demonstrable experience making content and assets that live in digital channels and take advantage of the nuances of various platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
• In conjunction with the Creative Director and Copywriter, work from a creative brief to conceive and execute creative work in a variety of formats and production types (from scrappy to high production).
• Be an energetic resource who continually brings fresh thinking and ideas to the Duke Cannon creative team.
• Create socially/digitally native content from concept through execution.
Requirements:
This role will be a career builder for the right candidate as it will provide an unparalleled learning experience and the opportunity to create a large volume of distinct work that actually gets produced. Additionally, you will get to see and learn firsthand how a growing business successfully operates within the modern consumer landscape.
MINIMUM 2 year associate degree in graphic design, marketing/communications, or other applicable study.
On-the-job training will consist of tackling new methods of production and conceptual design. Thorough knowledge of design concepts, color theory, typography, and the understanding to clearly discuss decisions made is essential.
• AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE in Art Direction.
• Previous experience working at an advertising agency is a plus
• High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Working knowledge or willingness to learn Adobe Dimension (or similar basic 3-D modeling software)
• Working knowledge Premiere Pro and AfterEffects is a plus, not mandatory.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook)
• A creative, entrepreneurial mindset. We are a small creative team that works hard and moves quickly.
• Positive Mental Attitude.
Reporting Structure and Company Location
This person will report directly to the Creative Director but will also work closely with the other members of the creative team.
