Position Summary
Partner with the Integrated Creative Manager in leading an interdisciplinary creative team at Capella, focusing on user experience and ensuring brand consistency across the organization. The creative manager will provide strategic feedback and will help direct the team of writers and designers across all mediums, working to align with Capella’s brand vision. Key skills include: people leadership, creative direction with a strong focus on digital (including agile/product methodology), and brand strategy.
The ideal candidate will be conceptual, strategic, have strong design and creative direction skills, as well as digital experience (including UX/CX). They will have prior experience serving as a corporate or agency creative lead, with a demonstrated ability to partner with internal teams to ensure consistency in expression.

Responsibilities
• Be a brand ambassador. Build a culture of curiosity, creative thinking, innovation and accountability.
• Support internal teams in aligning vision and providing direction to deliver a cohesive brand experience.
• Educate, inspire, and motivate the creative team to help them understand and protect the brand.
• Manage the creative process from concept to completion.
• Optimize the visual and verbal language used across all channels, including the website, social media, display, mobile, etc.
• Continually push for user-centric experience on digital mediums, as well as offline (print, collateral, etc).
• Understand and apply digital best practices across marketing tactics.
• Review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to creative teams.
• Remain actively involved in hiring and training creative staff.
• Partner with brand, market research, UX, CX, digital marketing teams and product teams to deliver creative solutions that optimize experience.
• Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies.
• Manage and cultivate the career development of the creative team.
• Celebrate team success and provide ongoing, constructive feedback directly to the team of writers and designers, and generate performance reviews.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or journalism.
• Solid foundation of hands-on, applicable experience with print, web, and user experience design.
• 6- 8 years of experience in marketing and/or creative services.
• Strong presentation skills and comfort level with clients and senior management.
• Prior experience (1-2 years) managing an internal creative group and/or advertising agency experience.
• Understanding of digital, mobile and email design standards and best practices.
• A strong understanding of brand development, from both a writing and design perspective.
• In-depth knowledge of multichannel marketing concepts.
• Comfort interacting with multiple cross-functional teams, external agencies and leadership.
• Problem solver who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
