Art Director

Duke Cannon Supply Co. is currently looking for an Art Director with strong design chops who can think & execute in a wide variety of channels, with an emphasis on social / content creation. We need someone who can really generate concepts, drive ideas forward, and wants to make a lot of culturally interesting things for a unique, ever-growing brand with a large and passionate following.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience working at an agency or similarly-structured organization, but if you’re just starting out and have the desired mindset, or have more experience, let’s chat.

There are no bad briefs here—we know our brand is a big differentiator and advantage for us, and we want everything we do to get noticed and elevate it. Accordingly, the person in this role will conceive, own and produce a wide range of energetic, creatively-driven work that universities will ideally teach future adverting & marketing students to regard as nigh-sacred texts.

Bonus: no timesheets.

Skills and Qualifications
• Build: we need someone who can come up with ideas and build on others. A maker, a builder, and a thinker.
• Creative Flexibility: We need a Jack or Jill of all trades—yes, someone who is uber proficient in creative software and all the necessary applications. Of course, someone who can deftly bring things to visual life. But also someone who can ideate and execute social content on a consistent basis.
• Student of Culture: The best candidate is immersed in current culture and can help Duke Cannon take advantage of opportunities to be timely and topical in a world where most folks have a 5-second attention span. For instance, we recently made an 8-bit videogame. What should we make next? A podcast? A new soap scent? A blimp? You tell us.

Reporting Structure and Company Location
This person will report to our Creative Director and work as part of an in-house creative team, alongside an Art Director, Copywriter, Social Strategist and our VP of Marketing.

Note: this is a hybrid position based in Minneapolis that does involve hours spent on-site; team members work in the office 3 days a week (some are here 5 days a week).

Salary and Benefits
Duke Cannon offers a competitive market salary plus insurance benefits commensurate with experience. Bonus eligibility starts after 6 months of employment. Because of our rapid growth, bonus payouts have typically exceeded base expectations and compensation increases have far outpaced inflation.
