The Twin Cities advertising and communications industry is getting ready to rumble for a good cause. On December 6, local agencies will descend on Minnesota’s most legendary stage, First Avenue, for a friendly battle-of-the-bands competition that will raise a ruckus and scholarship money for diverse students. The night will also include special guest performances by Minnesota favorites, including P.O.S, Chastity Brown, Dave Simonett (Dead Man Winter and Trampled by Turtles) and recent best-new-band honoree Static Panic.
The Battle was created in collaboration with the University of Minnesota’s College of Liberal Arts, its student-run advertising/PR firm, CLAgency, and The BrandLab, a nonprofit that works to improve diversity in the advertising and marketing industry. All proceeds from the event will go to the University of Minnesota’s “The Battle” Scholarship Fund to support students of diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds interested in a career in the field.
General admission tickets and a limited number of discounted group ticket packages are available now at https://thebattlemn.com. A few agency band slots remain for those who want to compete on the First Avenue Stage. Sponsorship packages, including in-kind packages, are also available.
