Production Designer
WORKSHOP® is a Northeast Minneapolis multi-hyphenate design agency that brings people and brands together in physical and digital spaces. We are seeking a new Production Designer who will assist in the creation of assets for print, retail and online applications. The ideal candidate is an organized problem solver and team player, who is passionate about creating and producing exceptional, forward-thinking design work. This role will work with a team of designers to build assets that match supplied specifications and maintain client brand standards.
As a Production Designer at WORKSHOP, you will play an integral role in executing successful and impactful campaigns on behalf of our clients. Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in design or other related field; 3+ years of relevant experience in print production, graphic design, or other related fields.
- Experience designing across platforms, including print, retail, web, and experiential.
- Experience producing and managing the development of web banners, including animated banners (specifically HTML5 and Google Ads).
- Experience with MacOS and Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffects and others as needed). Experience with Figma, Rhino and Blendr is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail as well as collaborative skills, along with the ability to create in partnership with designers, copywriters, and project managers.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to discuss design rationale with team members and partners as needed.
- Strong layout and typography skills.
- Experience with file organization and file management.
- Experience and comfort in interpreting and applying feedback from clients and partners (both internal and external).
- Comfortable working within existing brand standards, including with logos, color systems, and typography.
This position reports to the Production Design Lead at WORKSHOP. While day-to-day responsibilities evolve and change regularly at WORKSHOP, key responsibilities for this role will likely include:
- Designing assets for a variety of platforms, including print and web
- Translating supplied creative into files that are production-ready; proactively identifying and resolving any issues with creative work
- Preparing press-ready files based on provided specifications
- Image and file retouching
- Creating proofs for both internal and external reviews
- Packaging files for printers and/or external partners
- Communicating frequently with the creative director, design lead, project managers, production managers, and other partners; ensuring timelines and internal milestones are adhered to
