Fallon Minneapolis Creates 13-hour Commercial

By rizeabove / / Short attention span? Then stop now, friends. TV commercials have increasingly become shorter and shorter. From 2008–2012, the number of 15-second spots grew some 80%. But Fallon and Arby’s are bucking that trend. This past weekend, the brand filmed a brisket being smoked for 13 hours—yes 13 hours—to showcase how its smokehouse in Texas cures Arby’s brisket, using the same techniques, meat, seasoning, and duration. The spot ran on a TV station in Duluth, MN over the weekend and shattered the Guinness Book of World Records’ longest TV commercial, which was previously held by Nivea and clocked in as a measly 60 minutes. Hop on www.13hourbrisket.com for a live stream this Wednesday, from 9am–10pm Eastern Time. Tune in, y’all, there are over $20,000 of cash and prizes to be had.
