Let’s face it: there are a lot of people who think higher cost equals higher quality, then use that logic to drag a value brand like Supercuts, with commentary like, “Supercuts is cheap because you pay with your dignity.”
For those people, Supercuts is introducing the Real Dumb Coupon, which will add $50 to the price of its otherwise affordable haircuts. Not $50 off, $50 ON. Now, no one has to miss out on a great cut, simply because it doesn’t cost enough.
The Real Dumb Coupon campaign, developed by Rise and Shine, stars the chief digital officer of Supercuts, John Davi, reading and responding to mean posts, while presenting the first-of-its-kind reverse coupon.
“People commenting online about how cheap Supercuts is … an opportunity in our eyes,” said Matt Burgess, chief creative officer at Rise and Shine. “So for them, the team created this reverse/dumb/vanity coupon. Problem solved.”
In addition to the long-form content linked above, the campaign includes :30 and :15 video running across Instagram, Meta and TikTok.
Real Dumb Coupons are now available at RealDumbCoupon.com. The perfect gift for friends and family who need to pay a little more to feel a little better about themselves.
