Minneapolis-based designer eyewear business, eyebobs, headed West to capture its brand story for a new Spring/Summer 2020 frame collection.
And it wasn’t just any desert photo shoot with the obvious cactus and coyotes. The quirky, artistic town with a national reputation of being a little off-center, Marfa, Texas, served as a rich, eclectic backdrop, delivering an intriguing juxtaposition to the soft tones and stylish designs of the seasonal frames.
The work is consistent with a “Makers” campaign eyebobs started last summer by showcasing creative thinkers, entrepreneurs and innovators celebrated in their local communities. Individuals that live the brand’s purpose of “You supply the personality, we frame it.”
Like the Twin Cities campaign, the Marfa creative will show up in digital advertising, in-store displays, email marketing, collateral and social media content.
“We’ve come a long way in our creative expression over the last year,” said Joe Prebich, eyebobs’ vice president of marketing. “We pride ourselves on leading a rebellion in the somewhat stale eyewear category. We’re showing a fun yet sophisticated lifestyle and fashion brand whereas many in the industry are only focused on product features and the clinical side of things.”
This brand marketing approach will continue in Denver next, where eyebobs plans to introduce a second store later this year.
eyebobs is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2020 and has other plans to keep reinvigorating the business and category, including new store concepts and consumer experiences.
