From the desks of Public Works…

Anyone who has ever attended an Upper Midwest Emmy Awards Gala knows that Boyd Hubert usually takes home about a million statues for his thoughtful, heartstring-tugging stories told on KARE 11 News. But luckily for the rest of us, Boyd doesn’t make sports documentaries. So Public Works was able to gain their lone Emmy Nomination for the show Dream. State.

Produced in association in with The State of Hockey, the show follows a high school hockey team in their quest to make the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Public Works partnered with SSQTCH Creative this year to tell the story of the Minnetonka High School Hockey team. Directed, shot, and edited by SSQTCH for the first time this season, this marks the third-straight year Dream. State. has been nominated for an Upper Midwest Emmy (winning both in its past two years).

Winners will be announced October 5, where we’re pretty sure Boyd Huppert’s name will be called a lot more than ours. Congrats, Boyd.
