A Series So Nice They Baked It Twice

“Thanks a tot!” said the Dream. State. team after receiving its second Upper Midwest Regional EMMY® Award for Outstanding Sports Program—Series (Outside of Sports).

Created by acowsay cinema and Public Works for the State Of Hockey, the MN Wild’s community relations initiative, the second season followed the Moorhead Spuds boys’ hockey team on their quest to return to the State High School Tournament.

After finishing as the runner-up in 2017, this season rose in its connection with the players, coaches, and families and fell with a heartbreaking loss all while telling the rich story of a proud community.

This second recognition of the original program is just gravy for a company eager to apply their storytelling abilities into the advertising and brand content space while exploring the creation of more original content.

“We cherish opportunities to engage and entertain audiences through story. Our team has become well-versed in presenting meaningful relationships and experiences made possible by good people,” says Tyler Eichorst, Creative Director. “This award shows what’s possible when you put story first and we will always be rooting for Coach Ammerman and the Spuds.”

The six-part series that aired on Fox Sports North can be viewed in its entirety on the State Of Hockey YouTube page.
