SCHERMER is looking for our next great Senior Copywriter! The primary role of the Senior Copywriter is to direct and develop copy and content, from conception to completion, in any medium for the purpose of building brands and driving demand. The Senior Copywriter will thoroughly learn the subject matter, understanding its context and implications, and then distill those learnings into succinct and compelling content. She/He will engage in concepting and content mapping, writing for product launches, demand gen campaigns, emails, landing pages, banners, lead magnets and other deliverables.
Essential Duties + Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
+ Develops messaging platforms, concept development, collateral, direct mail materials, speeches, ads, landing pages, articles, emails, websites, videos, scripts, and other related informative and promotional materials to meet campaign and program objectives
+ Consults with client, strategy leader and account services to discuss needs and requirements of creative, scope and plan work, obtain necessary info on product or service from client, strategy team or own research, then produces copy/content with accuracy, quality and speed
+ Obtains background and relevant info through research and interviews to help find insights that lead to creative/content strategy and copy development
+ Provides leadership and expertise to clients and agency staff on marcom/content/digital trends, providing info/insights, approaches and best practices for brand, content and digital marketing
+ Works with creative director to devise creative strategies, develop concepts and provide creative leadership on assigned projects.
+ Presents and reviews concepts/copy/content with creative director and account executive to ensure adherence to strategic focus and tone.
+ Presents messaging, strategy, copy & concepts; showing solution-oriented approach, negotiating changes, and revising until approved.

+ Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
+ 10+ years of experience writing in an agency environment.
+ Writing - Translates concepts and information into clear, informative copy that conveys the strategic message.
+ Uses feedback to modify copy; applies strong writing principles.
+ Collaboration – works with design and account management teams to bring all aspects of project tactics together.
+ Edits work for spelling and grammar.
+ Project Management - Completes projects on time and budget.
+ Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures.
+ Dependability - Keeps commitments.
+ Innovation - Displays original thinking and creativity.
+ Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
+ Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner.
+ Experienced knowledge of strategy, user experience, design, development, and QA deliverables.
+ Strong attention to detail and focus on task completion.
+ Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
+ Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills (oral & written).
+ Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
