ACCOUNT MANAGER
Reports to Account Director; collaborates with the entire team.
Minnow is a Minneapolis based design studio. We simplify and shape brands to add relevance, memorability and timelessness. A MINNOW (SENIOR) ACCOUNT MANAGER acts as the day-to-day liaison with clients to ensure project success. Responsible for leading clients in every engagement, applying agency tools and theory while course correcting, as needed. A Minnow Account Manager is the face of the agency and a critical team member responsible for forecasting and business growth of current and new capabilities with any given client.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Proactively lead an account and set client expectations
• Clearly communicate agency POD internally and externally
• Leadership and partnership with team members to build effective timelines, estimates, etc.
• Successfully write engaging, impactful creative brief(s)
• Confidently discuss budgets
• Discernment of who to involve and when
• Collaborate with the ECD / Designers to reach outstanding and effective creative solutions
• Learn and present competitive environment of clients’ business
• Share and utilize agency tools
• Clearly understand the clients’ strategy
• Build strong relationships with clients, expand agency reach
• Strong industry knowledge including channels, retailers, consumers and shoppers
• Mentor other account team members in growth, development and client Q&A
• Consistently questioning clients beyond initial ask to understand strategies and seek opportunities
• Develop new processes to fulfill unique client needs; formulate new strategies
• Clearly present strategic plans to clients/counterparts
• Address client issues/asks with little guidance
• This role will take on key initiatives as assigned by the Account Director and/or Leadership
SKILLS REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, brand management, communications or similar
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an account leadership position
• Strong interest in brand communication and well versed on the impact brand plays in culture and business
• Strong business acumen, proactive and approachable
• Excellent communication skills (phone, email, text and traditional letter writing)
• Effective time management: ability to manage multiple assignments at once
• Highly organized
• Excellent listener
• Committed to excellence
• Microsoft Office + understanding of a MAC environment
• Strong desire and drive to do what it takes to be successful
