The Creative Copywriter provides support to the Vice President of Marketing Strategy, Marketing Directors, Web Team, Project Managers, Creative Strategist and freelance Designers for Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's marketing communications division while maintaining and championing the integrity of the Foundation's brand. The primary role of the Creative Copywriter is to provide engaging, clear, credible and well-written content for a wide range of digital and print marketing projects. Job scope includes writing content for multiple and varied marketing campaigns, projects and media channels, including website content and blogs, brochures, direct mail, newsletters, social media, advertisements, presentations and invitations. This person must have impeccable writing skills, the ability to interpret client needs, and the capacity to work well under tight time constraints.
a. Develop and produce content—both original writing and as the editor of content provided by subject matter experts
b. Contribute to and collaborate on multiple print and digital marketing communications projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
c. Write promotional materials as assigned and work collaboratively with project managers, copywriters, editors, designers and web team members
d. Understand, translate and champion Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's brand guidelines
e. Write creative, effective, error-free marketing copy
f. Conduct research and interviews as needed to inform content development
g. Drive the creation of original concepts that result in effective and compelling communication
h. Adapt writing style and approach to appeal to specific target markets (eg, Philanthropy, B to C, B to B)
i. Experience with web markup language and search engine optimization
j. Familiarity with commonly used style guides
k. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
l. Self-motivated and well-organized
m. Clearly articulate and present creative concepts and underlying strategic thinking
Internal Communications and Public Relations
a. Assist as needed with story development for public relations campaigns
b. Support the PR Communications team as needed by creating copy for employee communications channels, speeches and presentations
c. Write articles for the Foundation's employee intranet site as needed
A successful candidate in this role will have the following skills:
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
• Experience and knowledge in writing for all digital and print platforms
• The ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines and a large volume of work
• Strong customer focus and commitment; responsible and accountable for meeting, exceeding and measuring the mutually determined needs and expectations of partners, leadership and customers
• Responds in a timely fashion to inquiries and requests from internal and external customers and stakeholders, using discretion and good judgment
• Professional, able to work independently, must be a self-starter

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
• 2+ years' experience in writing promotional copy across multiple platforms
• Understands how to drive business through digital platforms
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft products, Office 365, Word MS as well as Adobe PDF, Photoshop, Searchmetrics, Workfront
