SixSpeed is looking for a part-time, temporary Back End PHP Developer to join its growing digital team in Minneapolis.
This position will start at 15 hours per week in office with the opportunity to grow into more hours and possibly full-time employment. As a Back End Developer, your focus is to implement the functional aspects of projects while aligning with the creative team's vision and the project requirements. You’ll work closely with our Technical Director, digital team, and creative and experiential leads to constantly push the limits of what's possible for our brands’ user experience while making sure the projects run as planned. We are looking for top talent that isn't afraid to wear multiple hats while building our digital capabilities. • Passion for optimizing pages, images, scripts, and web services for scale and performance
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-4 years of experience
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree
• Expertise with PHP object-oriented programming and MVC applications.
• Experience in WordPress, CodeIgniter, Laravel, CakePHP, and/or Shopify
• Familiarity or experience with automated deployment strategies
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery and/or other JS libraries
• Experience with linux server administration and AWS
• Experience with SQL optimization
• Experience in web application performance tuning
• Familiarity with Memcached and Redis
• Working knowledge of SASS, LESS, Twitter Bootstrap or any other CSS framework
