The "Good Bike Project" of Toronto
Toronto's abandon bikes are getting a makeover thanks to artists Caroline Macfarlane and Vanessa Nicholas. At first, they painted old bikes they found on the street, but over time the pretty-upping caught the eye of Toronto's Mayor. Now the city donates its abandoned bikes to the artists for them to paint and place where they see fit. As for the inspiration behind each bike's paint job, Macfarlane was quoted saying, "Each bike marks a site that embodies the spirit of regeneration and community that inspired us in the first place."
