• Sébastien Thibault's Sweet, Witty Illustrations

    / Comments (0)

Sébastien Thibault is the latest awesome illustrator hailing from Canada to catch our eye. His strong portfolio includes work for the likes of TIME, The Boston Globe, and Rolling Stone Italy who have all appreciated his talents for taking sometimes quite abstract or convoluted concepts and rendering them with wit. He’s particularly adept at tackling themes around technology and our shifting relationship with it, although he also does a nice line in more weird and wonderful subjects too.

Talisker owns the only distillery on the Isle of Skye in Scotland which happens to be one of the wettest places in the country (where a light drizzle can quickly transform into a full-blown weather phenomenon). The whiskey-makers wanted to bring their tempestuous weather to whiskey-drinkers across Europe — so they set up a 25-foot interactive installation to give them a taste. Sweet.

Finally, it's that time of the year again. Art-A-Whirl is this weekend, starting today at 5 and running until 5 on Sunday! Each year the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) presents Art-A-Whirl which is the largest open studio tour in the country. It’s a great opportunity to tour private studios and galleries, connect with the artists, and purchase original artwork. This year you can tour more than 70 locations throughout Northeast Minneapolis, including studio buildings, art galleries, homes, storefronts, businesses, and restaurants. As always the event is free.

Plan your visit with NEMAA's Artist Directory and Guide, which includes information about the NEMAA artists, a map of Northeast Minneapolis and the Art-A-Whirl locations, a dining guide, and more. If it's your first time to an art crawl you're crazy; but, no need to fear because there are some helpful hints on engaging with and buying from artists right here. Awesome!
