  • Russian Photographers Secretly Climb a Pyramid while Documenting the Experience

    / Comments (1)

Woah. Things like this only happen in movies where the film culminates in a showdown between protagonist and villain, set against the background of an epic score and a historic monument. Well this isn’t a movie. Back in March, a troop of Russian photographers stealthily scaled the Great Pyramid of Giza and documented the unseen vistas from its summit. How did they do it? They waited several hours after closing time and hid from guards until they saw their chance. As one of the photographers would later point out, climbing the Pyramids is a punishable crime and can carry sentences of up to three years. Still, once they had reached the peak, it’s not likely that prison time was going through their minds.

Orphea is a pretty powerful bug killer spray sold in Italy. Their agency Publicis most recent ad execution for them has to be one of the more brilliant ooh executions that we've seen. They simply places an image of the can and created a fly trap in the shape of the arc of the spray. After a while, thousands of dead bugs were still to the billboard creating a highly relevant, clear message.

With an already incredible editorial portfolio shooting for TIME Magazine, Wallpaper*, and Spin, Marton is also the co-founder and photo director of award-winning magazine The Room. Marton’s talent lies in his fascination with the ordinary which he explains in an interview for Port Magazine: “I’ve always been keen on capturing everyday reality by transforming it into photographs that suggests a world beyond reality.
